Biography for Sue E. Thomas, M.S.

Sue E. Thomas is the founder and president of M-A-P, Managing Asset Potential, an organizational development and human resource consulting company and L-E-A-D -- Leadership - Equine Assisted Development. She has over 22 years of experience in manufacturing environments, 12+ years in Human Resource Management, and possesses an in-depth knowledge of human interactions.

Ms. Thomas’ extensive skills in leadership, organizational development, quality, facilitation, and her vast business knowledge has allowed her to be highly successful in a vast array of client projects including: ISO 9001 implementation, Continuous improvement initiatives, Leadership development and training, Executive coaching, Integrating employee empowerment, Performance management systems, Process improvements, Communication improvements, and Team development.

M-A-P specializes in finding and eliminating the barriers to company and individual growth, and connecting the people to the goals of the organization. M-A-P provides a whole systems approach to linking performance, morale, culture, change initiatives and quality into sound business practices. Prior to starting M-A-P, Ms. Thomas was the Vice President of Human Resources and Information Systems at J.W. Harley Inc., where she managed the human resource and information systems departments. She provided extensive coaching to General Managers regarding organizational development initiatives and chaired numerous committees and teams to review business processes and implemented enhancements. Ms. Thomas also held a position in Operations Management and was instrumental in organizing workflow, implementing computer systems, and developing production tools and documentation.

Prior to J.W. Harley Inc., Sue Thomas was a Plant Supervisor for a pewter manufacturing company, and held the position of Production Scheduler/Expediter for two separate companies that manufactured nuclear components for aircraft carriers and submarines.

Ms. Thomas has a Master’s of Science degree in Organizational Development and Analysis from Case Western Reserve University – Weatherhead School of Management. She graduated Cum Laude from Baldwin-Wallace College with her undergraduate degree in Human Services. Sue is certified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and is a Certified Facilitator through Edge Learning Institute in Increasing Human Effectiveness.

She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, Organizational Development Connection, Organizational Development Network, John Carroll University’s Entrepreneurs Association, and PEAK Coalition (Portage Elevates Assets in Kids). Sue participates in Junior Achievement and chairs her graduate alumni planning committee.
