Biography for Robert Pritchard, Esq.

Mr. Robert Pritchard is a shareholder for Littler Mendelson, the national employment and labor law firm. Littler has more than 700 attorneys located in 45 offices, and a practice that extends into every area and sub-area of workplace law. Mr. Pritchard represents employers in class action and unfair competition litigation. He also counsels employers on compliance with equal employment laws and defends them in equal employment litigation. In 2005 and again in 2006, Mr. Pritchard was recognized as a Pennsylvania Rising Star. Rising Stars are chosen by their peers as being among the top up-and-coming lawyers in Pennsylvania. In 2004, Mr. Pritchard was recognized by The BTI Consulting Group as a member of its Client Service All-Star Team for Law Firms – one of 114 lawyers nationwide identified as delivering superior client service during interviews of corporate counsel at Fortune 1000 companies. From 1996-1997, Mr. Pritchard served as a law clerk for the Honorable Carol Los Mansmann, Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Mr. Pritchard contributes to a variety of legal and human resources publications on topics such as protecting trade secrets, hiring and firing, and legal ethics. He is a contributing author to the National Employer and the treatise Littler Mendelson on Class Action Litigation, and he is Managing Editor of the Open Compliance and Ethics Group’s leave law supplement. In October 2006, he published an Insight on the Department of Labor’s opinion letter regarding the application of the administrative exemption to mortgage loan officers.

Mr. Pritchard makes presentations to human resources professionals and lawyer groups on topics ranging from restrictive covenants and compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act to legal ethics. He is a regular speaker at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s annual Employment Law West program. In 2006, Mr. Pritchard spoke at the Pennsylvania Employer conference on the topic of addressing the class action onslaught.
 

Mr. Pritchard was the valedictorian of his class, when he obtained his J.D. from University of Dayton Law School. He also received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
